I first signed up for SiteGround based on this page...

http://siteground.com/e107-hosting.htm

...which goes into some depth about the support for e107. Imagine my surprise upon logging in for the first time that e107 is not listed as one of the installable scripts.

What's going on here? What steps must be taken to have e107 installed and supported at SiteGround? Perhaps I missed something while signing up, or my inexperience is interfering ;)

Any help would be appreciated.

e107 is indeed supported on SiteGround servers. You also get free installation of that script. All you need to do is post a ticket, and if your script is not in the list, just choose the category "other." Then, type the name (e107 is ok) of the script you wish to have installed. Our support will do that for you very quickly.

It works perfect on siteground!

I just did it from c-panel:

created a database - connected a user to the base - put the script via FTP to a subdomain - installed it from the web.

Thats it.

I also think that e107 is the very, very best CMS in the world!
