Hello!

I would like to enable Hotlink as the users over at MySpace just love to hotlink my photos -- grrrrrrr

My question is, I see on the Hotlink control panel that it says URL to redirect to. Does this mean that I can make a page about my HotLinking policies and when someone tries to Hotlink, they will be re-directed to this page?

Thanks ~ Maureen

Generally - yes. Any requests for images on your account, that do not contain any of your domains in the referrer HTTP header will be redirected to this URL. If the image is an element of a page, however, it will not show the page, but the broken image icon.

The "polcy" page will only be visible if people try to access the url of the image directly in their browsers, for example:

http://somegreedysite.com/a-page-with-your-images.html

will show the images broken.

http://yourdomain.com/someimage.jpg

will redirect to the URL that you listed in cPanel, if the referrer does not contain any of your domains.
