add on domains

I purchased another domain name with siteground. I was trying to get it to point to a sub-domain in my hosting account. It states that I am allowed 0 add on domains. Do I have to purchase an add-on slot in order for this to work? It states you have to have that feature set up.

In order to have a separate domain pointing to a sub-directory you need to have the Addon Domain Slot Feature. It can be ordered from your Customer Area. Once you order your Addon Domain Slot we will activate this feature in your CPanel and you will be able to point your new domain to a sub-directory of your main account.

Can I point a second domain name to my site that I already have on siteground with domain name.
I don't want to point at a sub domain - just the same one as the first...

You can do that - point domain2.com to open domain1.com (it will open the index page). This feature is called parking and you can do it from your cPanel - Park domains icon. It's easy, but if you don't feel comfortable doing it on your own, you may post a ticket for that.
