Removing Popular and Latest News

On some of the Joomla Templates from siteground i would like to remove the latest news section and popular section. I cannot figure out how to remove these sections.

Hello,

The easiest way to remove those would be to unpublish them from the control panel of Joomla. You just have to go to the template and decide which part of the template to appear. Another solution would be to edit the source code of the template and thus permanently remove the news section.

But I do need to publish articles.

How would I publish articles and not have them show up in the latest? Will the template code have to be edited?

Hi

Just going from memory here :-) If you unpublish the latest and recent "Site Modules", new content items will still show as long as the articles and section/category etc are published.
