New mambo user..confused

Ok.. this is my very first web site very first use of mambo or any other software application..so a few questions..apologies if they sound simple to all you experts..and thank you in advance for any help

I have found a template and managed to upload that with a friends help. If I want to make changes to the template I guess I need to change it...so how can I do that e.g in Frontpage perhaps??

Template I have found has login for user, do I simply remove that..as well as something to do with RSS etc..Just need a simple site..

Also..how would I add additional naviagation buttons to a template eg across the top

Do I need local version of Mambo or is all the software held at SiteGround?

How do I add google adwords to a site

Last and not the least... hear lots of talk about php smf's etc etc... what do I need to download to build, develop and maintain a site..please assume I have nothing

Have you tried the Mambo tutorial SiteGround do? You can view it at http://siteground.com/tutorials/mambo/mambo_introduction.htm

Also there are a number of Mambo & Joomla forums around that have good tutorials. All the things you've asked are fairly straight forward, so you should find answers ok.

Hiya,

with the help of the siteground tutorial you will be able to do what you want. Print it and read it. It's a good help. Why not ask the tech guys to install Joomla for you. Version 1.03 is very stable and well Mambo/Miro, the "real"guys have left the Miro club
