bolo ram .....

i am thinking about - to bring my site http://www.harekrischna.de to siteground - because my current hosters are not real good, and on top of that the support is near 0, + the are unfriendly to,

so i am thinking to change

2 question about that:

my visitors are usually from the German area, so its fare away from the siteground server, so the speed to open a site maybe little less - here in germany,

so any German users can please give there experience

ather think is:
i have a .de toplevel domain (is that the right name_?) and i cant bring it to siteground,
well, i can order a .com domain, no problem about that,
but i have around 300 pages rankt good at google, i dont wont to lose that ...

so any idea to manage this issue,

thank you for any response

Hello,

First of all, I would like to say that you will not be disappointed to change your hoster with SiteGround :)

Now, to the questions:

my visitors are usually from the German area, so its fare away from the siteground server, so the speed to open a site maybe little less - here in Germany,

You should not experience any problems with the speed. Our servers are in the United States, but they are connected to the Internet though more than 6 of the largest ISP's in USA and the connectivity between them and Europe is extremely good (I'd say excellent). You can check the connectivity to the servers from here:

http://aletra.com/spotcheck.php

This will list results from all over the world - Asia, Europe, USA, etc. You can enter 'siteground12.com' -- this is our newest server.

Furthermore, here is a traceroute result to 'denic.de' which is a .de domain name registrar:

...

16 www.denic.de (81.91.161.19) 118.169 ms 118.276 ms 118.417 ms

As you can see, there are only 118ms to Germany, which is 1/10 of the second. It even shouldn't be noticable :)

Well, I see no reason for you to not bring the .de domain name to SiteGround. You can just change your DNS servers to siteground's DNS servers, and you will be able to use your domain name with us with no problems :)

thanks for fast response,

i thought that there should be no problem with the speed, but i saw your own siteground_page, open here somehow slow, it teaks around 20 seconds until the site is complete loaded, /thats with isdn/ - my site and normally athers are real faster, and your main site is about plain html, so no database_ inquiry, on the ather hand - your forum is more faster, so i dont understand .....

than also - your given link : http://aletra.com/spotcheck.php is not working, i woud like to try are tool for this thinks,

for the .de domain case; i read some thing that i can not bring a .de domain as primary domain, but i dont find it again (if you can point me please), i found only this: Only the primary domain, associated with your account will be renewed for FREE. All other domains transferred to SiteGround are subject to $14.95 renewal fee.,

no problem for some extra payment, but i wont understand all things clear bevore, and i wont to keep - for example this paths:http://www.harekrischna.de/home/index.php?option=content&task=category&sectionid=3&id=78&Itemid=27
http://www.harekrischna.de/forum/viewforum.php?f=5, there can be a ather path to, but this should be kept,

and also, i dont wont to disparage your service - that looks great - just wont to find out thinks,
the other day i was in the chat with someone from you ground, (forgot the name) and he liked to send me a email about: the 5 dollar_plan and payment possibilitys, but it does not come, so i would appreciate this still ...,

all the best!,

Well, actually the fault is mine. The correct link should be:

http://alertra.com/spotcheck.php

Actually, there is no need for your domain name to be registered by us or transferred to us in order to get a hosting for that domain name and use that domain name for the particular hosting. On the following page you will find a manual how to change your exiting domain's DNS settings:

http://faq.siteground.com/faq/dns-change.html

Well, you can contact our sales representatives. You should click the LiveChat icon on our main site:

http://www.siteground.com

They will assist you with anything you would like to.

Actually, our site is pretty heavy. It is not plain html at all, but it uses much database connections at the same time :) But 20 seconds is slow.

From our office (which is in europe too) our site loads for 3-5 seconds but we are using dedicated line.

You can have up to 100 subdomains for free along with our $5/mo hosting plan so the answer would be yes :)

thanks for answer,

that tool @ alerta.com is great, i tried some sites from the forums "Website Review" and the are all near 1.50 sec. in Frankfurt GERMANY, so thats what is my site now,

the domain_case is like i thought, i have to be entangled with another hosting company, to keep my domain, so if you wont to improve your service,
then try to find a way, that can avert this thing --- ;)

anyhow - i will heft (consider) things (with my partners), about change spot,

thanks for your help
