Zen Cart Question

I have a current ecommerce site hosted with another company. I want to develop a new site using Zen Cart and siteground, but continue to have my old site be live on its host until i'm ready for the siteground site to go live in a few months.

Until then, can I develop the siteground site but keep its future domain name pointed towards the other old site which is hosted elsewhere? If so, how? Do I use the IP address instead of the domain name in hrefs? I'm confused because all the hrefs on the siteground zen cart site are absolute paths using my domain name as their base, but, as I said, the domain name currently points to the old site.

You can access your account by using the server temporary URL:

http://sitegroundXXX.com/~USERNAME

You should change the sitegrounXXX.com with the server name where your account is hosted on and put your cpanel username instead of USERNAME.

If you do not know your servername or cpanel username, please post a ticket and our support team will be glad to provide you the exact URL.

Additionally, please note that you will need to reconfigure your ZenCart to work with the temporary URL. This can be done via the configuration files under the includes and admin/includes directory.
