The CEO wants me to write a FAQ assuring site visitors that the site is secure.

I want to refer to the SSL we have, but the CEO, busy as he is, doesn't know what level he signed up for.

1. How can I find out what level of SSL we've got on the site?

2. More generally, what can I tell visitors about security and (if they become members) confidentiality on the site?

In order to find out what type of SSL are you using, post a ticket from your Customer's Area -> Help Desk

You can give the following information to your clients about the private ssl certificate.

It provides 256bit data encryption which ensures secure transmission of sensitive or personal data to your site. This way it protects your customer's and you. Also a valid certificate is a sign of legitimate web site.

In order to give your customer's more accurate information about the nature of SSL encryption you may refer to google and various resources.
