Yes, there is not a problem to have a forum script installed in a subdirectory of public_html folder, which is the main one for the web site content. In this way your main web site will remain intact.

For example you can pick one of the following subdirectory names:

forum
board
phpBB
smf

The most popular forum scripts are phpBB (http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/phpbb/index.htm) and SMF (http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/smf/index.htm). They can be installed through your cPanel->Fantastico.

About the phpNuke theme, you first need to install phpNuke. It can also be installed through Fantastico. You can check our phpNuke tutorial (http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/phpnuke/index.htm) in order to learn how to install the script and set a new theme.

If you have a problem with a script installation you can always post a ticket under the Script Installation category in our Help Desk and we will complete the task for you.

thank u very much so if i understand your saying make a new Folder in Public_html under any name ?

Install phpBB2 (2/3)

The MySQL database and MySQL user sbrclan_phpb1 will be created and used for this installation.

- You chose to install in the domain sbrclan.org, in a subdirectory called forum.
- The access URL will be: http://sbrclan.org/forum

thats what i done so far

No, actually the directory should not be existing if the scrip is being installed in a sub-directory for your domain name. Basically if you would like the forum installed for:

http://sbrclan.org/forum

The 'forum' directory under public_html should not be existing.
