Hi I am new to this forum and new to Joomla. I have done a lot of work with dreamweaver on html sites.

I have a psd file that I have been pulling my hair out trying to get into a template that I can use with Joomla. I have read many posts - purchased 2 joomla books ($110) as well as read some of the online docs for joomla, but I have yet to find anything that gets me from point A (PSD file) to point B (Joomla Template)...

I have downloaded Nvu but found out that it's old and has bugs...

Does anyone have any thoughts about how I can get from point A to point B with a working template?

I am very impressed with the options that joomla offers, but to get something that is a custom template - it seems rather difficult.

Thanks so much!

Tim

Hi Tim

Opologies, but i'm not quite sure what you are intending to do.
Do you mean that you are trying to replace a joomla image with a psd type file or are you building a template from a psd file?

I have never used Nvu so cant really offer any help on that. As your probably aware, most of the editing in the Joomla system is done within the admin area as opposed to an external editor because the Joomla site is basically a front end for the database.

Best regards

Hi Tim,

Many tips on how to build a Joomla template can be found here (http://dev.joomla.org/content/view/1136/79/).

Hopefully you will find answers to at least some of your questions there :)
