Siteground12 KeyWay template question

I have been using the Siteground12 template for some time now and wanted to upgrade my Joomla installation to 1.5 so I set it up on a test box and in Legacy mode the template works however the menu does not appear the same as in Joomla 1x. The menu items appear as underlined links which is not appealing.
Is there a way to fix it so that the menu items appear in Joomla1.5 Legacy mode as they do in Joomla 1x?

Please note that Joomla 1.0.x templates have quite different structure than the templates created for Joomla1.5.x versions. Unfortunately, it seems that the current template you are using is not fully compatible with the new version of Joomla and as such is the menu a bit different.

You might consider using a specially designed theme for the new version.
