Hi, I downloaded this free template for a site I run about parenting and children. It's a great site, and a great template, but I obviously need to change the COMPANY NAME and the COMPANY SLOGAN that are in the main banner/logo at the top. Problem is, this banner/logo is a single jpg, so I can't edit the letters. Anyone know of any way around this....editing in photoshop will most likely not solve the problem. If I could get a hold of the original graphic BEFORE the words COMPANY NAME and COMPANY SLOGAN were inserted, that would obviously help.

Thanx all
Riaan

Riaan,

After stumbling around these templates for a week I found where I can make changes to the "company name" and other generic logo and titles they put in the template.

For instance my free template from Siteground had a joomla logo where I wanted our logo.

FTP is your friend here. I use cuteftp , log into your site, the joomla logo was under
/../www/templates/siteground/images this may slightly vary for you.

I found the background image under /../www/templates/siteground/images/springtime

again this may be slightly different for you. the background was just a jpg so I found what every i wanted, matched the sizes and dpi and replaced. The logo in my template was a transparent png format, this can be created using tools like photoshop. Created MY logo and replaced it where the joomla logo was.

If you still have text up there you do not want, then double check the template manager and edit the template. I have parameters that turn on and off titles, turn these off if you do not want them or, edit them if that is all you want.

I'm using sitegrounds free ver. 1.5 template called Name: sg - Joomla 1.5

my site is www.fisherbunnies.us

Good Luck
