I am using the template siteground from the Joomla 1.5 template contest. I have legacy mode enabled. The poll shows invalid xml. Any advise on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance
Please check this article, I advise you to change your php version to 5.0:
http://kb.siteground.com/article/How_to_have_different_Php__MySQL_versions.html
This will fix the problem.

This is a customer support forum, so there is nothing else can really do. Go ask your webhost for help.

Go to the Joomla.org forums. But check to see if the links from back-end and front-end are the same. After upgrade the SEFs changed, and I had similar problems. Had to reset everything. and clear your caches. Restart. try it again.

First off, thank you Renee. I did go to the Joomla Form. There are people looking for the same answer there on the "Joomla 1.5 template contest forum" which Siteground submitted this template. Nobody as posted anything as far as a fix. I will try what you suggested. Thanks again for your response. Second to Collin1000. Whats up with the rude response. For your information I am trying to be honest here. I have offered to purchase the template from Siteground in order to get some support. Unfortunately I did not start off with Siteground for hosting. To change at this point would be time consuming, and foolish. Maybe in the future. Siteground has a lot of templates. A lot of them that I like, but I am not going to be held hostage because I don't have my hosting with them. There are a lot of options for Joomla templates out there. I just happen to like this specific template for the application that I am using it for. I spent most of today looking for an alternative templates from various different sites. It was an education to say the least. Maybe Siteground can revisit their policy on how they handle the templates. They may want to visit Rockettheme and take a look at how they handle templates. I understand the Siteground is more than just templates, but why lock out the people who need help with their templates just because they don't have their hosting with them. Keep up the good work Siteground, and take this post with a grain of salt. Be happy that Collin1000 does not work for you, because this would have been the last time I visited your site.
Thanks

Because we do not need to waste our time helping people on our forums with issues on their webhosting. Thats like asking a Ford car center to fix your Honda, because one time you got an oil change there. Its not their job to fix someone else's car for free. If everyone in the world came here to siteground for all their troubles, the support for the actual customers would be degraded. If you are not hosted with us, we cannot provide support for your hosting. Your webhost should be doing that. The terms of the templates clearly state that support is not given for them.

Dear Collin1000 This is not a hosting problem in my opinion. The polls work fine with other templates. If you go to the Joomla Forum (Joomla 1.5 template contest) where you gladly promote your "brand" you will notice that the same question is asked there. Not one person has responded as to a fix to this issue. If you are going to promote your brand on Joomla, why don't you take some time to answer some question. Why do you think it is a hosting issue when the polls work in other templates? Is this specific poll only set up to work in a Siteground hosted environment with specific parameters in place. If this is the case please let me now so I can stop going crazy trying to figure this out. It seems that support for the Joomla Forum as ended. I always thought that one hand washes the other. As I stated in a past post I offered to pay for this template, but it seems to me that your asking me to change my hosting in order to get a answer

I'm not familiar with 1.5 yet, but in 1.0 it is always required to have a menu item published pointing to the polls component. in 1.0 it will give error 'you are tyring to access a menu item that doesn't exist' or something similar.
so ... go to :
menu / other menu / new / component / polls
now publish the menu ITEM but not the menu.... if you're lucky it now works.
ps: I agree you are being treated like *@#@%^#$%... we are not all like that though

There are many peoples who are good prepared in a domain and who are not ready to share information with other people. I think is a wrong idea because an advice is a "Thank you". Is a good feeling. So...abacotc you don't need to be so upset...surely in another place you will find what you want...Hope you resolve your problems
