Hello,

If I have a DNS registered outside of Siteground (e.g.http://www.myothersite.com), can I point it to a sub-domain here on siteground (e.g. http://subd.mysitegroundsite.com)?

By this I mean users would only ever type in www.myothersite.com and not see it's pointing to a subdomain.

I've pointed other DNS's towards my main Siteground domain successfully.

Thanks in advance.

David.

I would like to get answer for same. I assume it can be done at extra cost using add a domain. I can't really justfy the added cost since I am non commercial. All I want is to be able to host some pages for some friends under a second domain name lakdiva.net I have so that they are not indexed in google under my main domain lakdiva.org hosted at siteground.com

I have lakdiva.net pointed at subdirectory lakdiva.org/net

I am hoping that using rewrite rules in .htaccess I can get it to appear to be at lakdiva.net rather than ladiva.org/net . I don't want to use stealth forwarding of mydomain.com which uses a frame since then the full URL is not displayed to be indexed.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Basically, what you need is a so called addon domain feature.

A quote from: http://faq.siteground.com/faq/addon.html

Addon domains allow you to host more than one unique website (such that have different content) on one account. Example: domain1.com is the domain name you have signed up to be hosted by SiteGround. Then you decide to host another unique website - domain2.com - on the same account. That is when you need an addon domain.

A similar case is when you wish a new domain name to point to a folder or a subdomain of your website.

Addon domains are considered upgrades at SiteGround.

SiteGround does not allow stealth redirections to be used via htaccess...
