Please help!! menu assignment

I am running joomla 1.5 with template siteground-j15-37 and I am receiving the error:
Menu Assignment Menus: Cannot assign Default Template

I cannot create a menu bar, or horizontal top menu, or whatever you want to call it, because of this error. I have searched high and low for an answer, with no luck. Also, I am not the only person who has had this problem.

This isn't really (or at least shoudn't be :-) an issue with the template itself but rather a general Joomla issue. What I was able to find related to this problem is the following:

Looking at this post, it seems that:


The reason you can't assign the default template to an individual menu item is because it is already assign to all items (because it is default).

See the documentation for instruction on how to set up the top menu for joomla 1.5.

Haven't really tried that, since I don't have a way to recreate the error on my end at the moment, but you might want to test it out.

Still doing the same template and whatonot. I cannot use the User3 position at all. I want to add a pill menu or whatever you want to call it. If I go to create a new menu, when I select position, User3 does not even show up as an option to select, however on the template design it does show that User3 would be where the pill menu would go. How do I correct this? Also I am a total newbie, so bear with me!!

I'm having the same problem with that template. I want to use the pill menu but seem to only have the option for "left" for my modules. When I use the ?=tp1 on my url I can see the pill menu exists and see it in index.php. But cannot use it. Anyone know?
