Templates trashing extraneous matters-from rhuk_milkyway template

I tinkered with the template extensively to give it the look and feel that fit the project that I am working on and I shall be grateful for hints relevant to how to delete the following elements from the template:

The first extraneous element
Is the Joomla logo at the upper end of the page with this copy "Joomla because open source matters...., and the copy that follows it," they are not related to my project.

The second and third extraneous elements are the "Latest News link" and its attached list-content layout,..., news flash..., as well as the "Popular link" with what's new, extensions ...

Thx in advance for your kind attention.

Hi

The latest news, news flash & popular can removed/unpublished in your Joomla back-end in module manager.

As for the Logo. Difficult to say without an url of your site or the actual template you are using.

Hope this helps

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I have been able to delete the extraneous materials. But I cannot delete or identify the link to the Joomla logo either from the frontpage manager or the module manager? All at the beginning or at the head of the rhuk_milkyway template.

Thanks again for your kind attention.
