Is it just me?

Hi there. I am very very very new to all of this. Just signed up with siteground 2 days ago. I know nothing beyond very basic html, so there is still a lot for me to learn. That's why I'm liking the sitebuilder so far.

But today I'm having a problem. I've been sitting here for literally an hour trying to do one stupid thing that I know how to do. My pages have lots and lots of text on them, so I'd like to have page anchors, linking to other parts of my page so it's easier for someone who wants to skip around sections.

And I've done it before on other sites with the code. I'm even copy/pasting the code from an html tutorial site. But it just won't work no matter what I do!

Is there something special about this sitebuilder that I'm missing? It doesnt leave the code alone, it adds stuff that I've never seen before.

Sorry for being such a n00b lol. I'm just ready to pull my hair out over here.

You can post a ticket to our support staff, providing them with the path to the page that you are editing, and they can set up an anchor or two for you, which you can use as an example in order to do the rest.
