Ive been wondering this....well. My vBulletin forum is getting overwelming traffic. We had 96 guests on the forum at one time and 33 members registered, on the first day. There is an average of 13 users online at once. Can the amount of bandwidth in the basic siteground $5/mo plan handle this? Or will i need to buy more bandwidth?

Well, the bandwidth should be enough even if you have twice as much users online at the same time. Please note that what a forum mainly contains is:

1. Some pictures at the heading, footer, avatars, smileys
2. Text of the threads.

The pictures are usually only loaded once, as they are cached afterwards from your browser.

then you continue to load text of the new threads only, which doesn't consume much traffic :)

omg. This is overwelming. I now have twice as many members. Generally the same amount of users online though.

Will siteground send me a warning when i am approaching my limit? I try to check time to time...but..

You should not worry about going over the limit suddenly, since an automated warning message is sent when you reach 80% of your bandwidth limit. You can also monitor your bandwidth usage in your cPanel. Information such as disk space and bandwidth usage is displayed in the left-hand side column. The traffic counter is reset in the beginning of each month.

dont worry about your bandwidth and how many user's you have at any one time, siteground will look after you.

go to www.onlinetruckers.co.uk click stats and see the trafic using the site,
