Siteground has placed my account into a limited status that is resulting in massive 503 errors and they're not being very forthcoming with answers or solutions other then to try to get me to move to a VPS.

My board rarely has more then 10-12 members logged in at a time, about 180 members total. We use less then 4gb of bandwidth a month and yet we're causing a server to go ballistic with our site? It's an off the shell Phpbb install so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or one similar?

I want this resolved quickly because at the moment my board is constantly unusable due to the limited status. If Siteground can't honestly handle that few of people on a forum then what type of servers are they buying? Ancient 486s?

Yea, my site constantly has the same issue. It wasn't always the case, and I use SMF not phpBB. But currently, and after redoing my forums probably 5 or more times, we still get 503 errors. They blame it on my site not being "optimized", which is probably accurate in some degree. But trying to get a server log is like pulling teeth, I got it one time though, and after doing massive changes have not been able to get it again.

Now I'm pretty much SOL since I've exceeded the number of tickets I can get.

My advice would be to pray.

There is nothing wrong with any forum it is the shared server.

I have been on shared servers before and although I have not had any issues yet, this is the only host that I have seen to have issues with forums and any site with a database.

At the end of the day for $5 a month, they are going to pack the servers to the limit. This means that they have to make sure no site effects the other sites ont he server, so probably has an automatic system they configure to penilise certain sites that are more than a static website.

They then say your have to upgrade or your site will have to go down. You have to rememeber you are dealing with a business, siteground is just that.
