I am adding a Link-URL in the main menu (Menu manager/New/Link-url) and inserting an URL (e.g. http://www.nba.com) everythings working well and the menu point is appearing.
But if you want to click it, joomla is adding a part like 'http://www.nba.com/&ItemId=9'.
What would i have to fix the template from assigning an itemid?
I am using Siteground100.

Hello,
You should enable the SEF functionality of your Joomla application. If you want to have more customization options, you can consider installing additional SEF extension.

how would i go about doing that exactly?
Hello Bigboy202,
The process of enabling the Search Engine Friendly URLs functionality in Joomla is explained in details in the following tutorial of ours:
http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/joomla15/joomla_seo.htm
As for the installation of other extensions, please refer to the following tutorial:

I have seo enabled and this did not help the initial problem. I still cant get the mainmenu button to go to www.helpme-tech.com/forums using and url-link. There is still a problem with the template as I am unable to add the url link, which shouldn't have a itemid.
** The mainmenu link works fine, but the button at the top of the page creates the itemid still?
