Hi everybody,
Greetings.
As far as I understood Siteground offers with hosting package a FREE domain. I would like to know who will be the owner of that FREE domain, customer or Siteground?
Thanks.

I belive its posted in the terms of service, or FAQ. But you are the owner of the domain name. I was listed as the owner on mine till I made it private. There may be a limitation time period you must remain on siteground, but believe me with the support and service they offer you wont' be going elsewhere. :)
Hello ZeroPoint,
Your name and contact details will be displayed as administrative contact and owner of the domain name . If you stay with our webhosting services , you won't pay any fees for domain renewal .
There may be a limitation time period you must remain on siteground, but believe me with the support and service they offer you wont' be going elsewhere.
There is no required time period to get the free domain name or to become the owner of it. The moment you order a hosting account , the domain name is yours.
You can transfer it to another registrar if you wish - we will unlock it upon request. However you will need to pay the domain registration fee if you decide to move it to another registrar.

Paul's comment that if one continues to host through SiteGround, the domain renewal fees will be covered caught my eye.
I initially registered my domain with GoDaddy and then signed up for hosting here last year. Is it possible to transfer the domain to SiteGround such that I could take advantage of this?
I will summerize our Free domain name policy as it is stated in our Terms of use now:
The free domain name offer is valid only for domain names registerred by SiteGround at the moment of the account set up.
Any customer that have a domain name registerred elsewhere can transfer it to SiteGround. The trandfer costs $14.95 and it includes the transfer procedure itself, as well as one year of registration added to the transferred domain name. A renewal fee is due for such domain names at the end of their registration.
