Hi Dailyrevolver

Not wanting to be too critical, but the site has what I would consider to be some really important issues, especially for the people with sight problems.

Quite a lot (if not all of them) of your links 'disappear' when you mouse over them... why? - change colour yeh, but disappear! Now you cannot see what your gonna click on, also the colouring is way too light, I can see well, but struggled with the first page.

I am running an 8mg line, but it took over 1min to view your first page completely, might be worth looking at again.

I am no expert, but I like my site to work fast, be clean and viewable instantly or quicker, time matters in this world.

Good Luck

Thats great feedback.

I have to say I had not a clue to what you were talking about because what you describe simply doesnt happen for me. Then it dawned on me. I use Fire Fox so I opened it up in IE and ...yuck... just as you described.

White background. Invisible mouse over. Long load time.

I hit refresh and the problem was mostly fixed. There still wasnt a border around each individual post and a few other minor things. Did refreshing the page help you? Any ideas how to go about fixing this? It works great in Fire Fox.

Why anybody uses IE, that bloody swiss cheese security and lack of functions browser is beyond on me...

Anyways more feedback would be of great help thanks again.

I suggest that if you are going to insist on using IE you at the very least update to the latest version here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

The latest version of IE seems to work.

Latest version of IE here, and i'm sorry but it is terrible to read....I wear glasses myself, and have tried IE and Firefox both to view your site.

In IE no backgrounds in the text so yes firefox seems better, BUT I had to refresh 3 times in firefox before they showed as well

you got a nice collection of links thats for sure

Again thanks for the feedback. Ive had others doing testing for me as well. Are you sure you have the latest update to IE7? I just now upgraded it along with a few of my mates and it works perfect in the latest version of IE7 for all of us. Same with FF, im not sure about Opera.

You should always try to be as backward compatible as possible. Internet Explorer 7 is not really out there yet..as it is only in RC1. IE still dominates the market even though FF is a better browser. As a webdesigner you should always keep this in mind.

On another note, are you using a CMS on your site? If so, what is it? :)

Im using WordPress with Vistered Little Theme.

I agree with the backward compatible aspect but I think its the theme itself causing the problem and either that gets updated or people get smarter and switch or update their browser ( lol yeah right ).

I did drop the default background I was using because it weighed in at over 1 meg which isnt so good. The default now is a paultry 61 kb.

And I love this theme to much to drop it so its gonna be my loss for now I suppose. Thank you so much for feedback its always a big help.

Well I have checked the site in all three (IE, Firefox & Opera) and was very impressed overall.

But here's a strange one for you.

In IE there is a picture of the moon in the background, which in turn wipes out your calendar due to the color/lighting clash.

But in FF and Opera it all looks great and the moon has disappeared??!!

Did not install IE 7 though its not the full monty yet, so will be leaving that until it is 'out there' properly.

I must admit though I had same problem building mine (www.quizzles.co.uk - still waiting for some reviews on this one myself) and making sure that it worked in all browsers (or at least the main 3) I agree with what you say about the security issues, etc, but what I think we must all agree with and for the present at least pay attention to, is that 93 percent of users are still using IE, so it would seem shameful and wasteful to disregard those users.

But overall though, great site, looks good and starts appearing straight away and doesnt take too long to complete. Good Luck.

I am now using a more user friendly theme. Built for clean easy navigation. Not much in the way of flash and fancy graphics, but hopefuly the content and ease of use will make up for that.

Any opinions whatsoever is very helpful, thanks.

Nice to see you back again.

Well I have had another look at your 'forever' changing site (lolol), the general layout seems fine and it loads very quickly. but why did you not allow it to collapse on itself. When I open in what I would deem the average for most now 1024 x 768 (i just so hope that is right, cannot remember for the life of me today) yet on your new site we have scroll bars on the bottom, now scroll bars on the side okay, we have all got used to that, but not the bottom, get rid, either make the external cell collapsable or resize, anything but dont use bottom scrollers.

Do me a favour take a look at my new site being built now www.avyc98.dsl.pipex.com, please do not click on the link quizzotto.com as it has not been activated otherwise everything else is just about ready, the game is not in place, as we are still writing that, but let me know what you think. Cheers and good luck with yours.

Thanks for that input!

1024 x 768 omfg people still use that? Your right about that, with the scroll bar at the bottom, so I went ahead and tightened it up but still couldnt quite get it right. I would have to make the font small, that would do it, but im not sure yet. Ill play around with a few things and see what im willing to compromise on.

Oh and I left some comments for you QD on your quiz page, thanks again.
