Hello
A new version of Joomla (1.0.11 ) is available. Will it be added to Fantastico for upgrades or do we need to upgrade manually?
Thanks

Hi,
It's normally best to upgrade manually - just download the correct patch file from joomla.org and then overwrite the files on your site via ftp (making a backup first, just in case).

I wish I had a backup, my site: www.pacificallsurf.com is presently offline after the upgrade. What should I do - go back!?

Hi,
It has been recommended to me to do the upgrade. Doesn't SiteGround do these security upgrades automatically?
I'm sure that I would trash my site doing this manually @ www.jjmacey.net.

The fantastico tool is a third-party software and we do not have the authority to add the new version to it.
Once a new version of the fantastico itself is released, we will upgrade it.
As for the Joomla - it is advised to create a backup first, then follow the instructions on their site for joomla upgrade.
There are pre-made packages that include just the changed files from most of the old versions.
If you happen to have crashed your site - it is advised that you request a backup restore.
It is a part of our Exclusive Professional Services just like the application upgrade.
