Best photo gallery for genaology collaboration?

I want to build a private website for my extended family to collaborate on collecting genaology info. As part of it I want to post old photos.

I want people to be able to search for photos based on the location where the photo was taken, persons in the photo, source of the photo, and range of years when the photo might have been taken.

I want each photo to be automatically associated with a comment system (not a rating system) and/or a forum thread, so that we can discuss each photo to decide who, what, where, etc. and capture reminiscences triggered by the photo.

Ideally, this would all be integrated somehow with pages of biographical articles, linked together in a family-tree structure.

Does anybody have suggestions about best tools for this?

You could use Gallery 2 to do what you want but you will have to use a lot of keywords in the search engine.

You could also use phpnuke with coppermine. They come integrated together I just can't think of the package name. By using phpnuke you would have your photo album and forum integrated on the same site and page for that matter.
