Domain Name Expired?

I was just poking around in my account and I saw this message attached to my domain name information:

"This domain name has expired. Please renew it as soon as possible if you need it, otherwise it will be cancelled."

I'm not worried about it, as I registered the name when I opened the account, so it should automatically renew, but the expiration date listed is 27 Sep 08.

If it is set to "expire" in 2008, why would this message be associated with it?
