These will definitely help. As well as Google Webmaster Tools. Forums, Directories, Social Sites.. there's no "which is better" or "which one should I use" it SHOULD be, "How can I use these all together to do even better"

Forum posting is easy and beneficial. I never go in directories, so I cant opine on it. But blog commenting is also one of the best SEO tools. You can also work in article submission, if you are experienced.
