Domain name point to subfolder
Our main domain name points to Joomla 1.0.x in /public_html.
We have set up Joomla 1.5.x in a subfolder.
When we have finished the set up for Joomla 1.5.x we would like to have the main domain name pointed to the subfolder and delete everything else under /public_html.
How do I point the main domain name to a subfolder (/public_html/subfolder)?
Thanks, greets, sihui

The easiest way is to create a forwarder. To do so you would need to go to your cPanel -> Forwarders section.

Thanks, but this works for _emails_. I would like to point a _domain name_ to a subfolder.
Thanks again, sihui

Oops
Mispelled the Forwarders with Redirects ... indeed forwarders are e-mail forwarders and the tab name for web forwarder is called 'Redirects'

I'm doing the same thing and currently have my site being redirected. However, in the address bar I now have the subfolder included in the url. mk2mk.org now redirects as mk2mk.org/new. How do I mask the /new so that the redirect shows as mk2mk.org only?
I also tried simple domain masking. It removed the /new, but the url did not change for any links in my site. All links were shown as mk2mk.org with the masking index.html in my root.

To do this you will need to purchase an addon slot and setup your domain to work with the public_html/new folder. Alternatively, you can simply reconfigure it to work from the new location

What do you mean by "simply reconfigure it"? How do I go about doing that?

You are using Joomla which means that you should edit the configuration.php file. For more detailed information on that matter, please check this article:

Thanks. I went ahead and moved my site into the root folder. Not my first choice, but better than paying for an addon slot I don't need. Thank you for the quick replies and help. I appreciate it!
