I believe that you have to give an example of the difference in pricing for VPS and Dedicated Server Hosting. You probably get almost the same kind of hardware specs on both cases but the price for VPS is usually 1/4 or less of the Dedicated Server Hosting pricing.

Thats a nice write up.But,for mission critical website/s and businesses,a dedicated server is what is highly recommended.You being the only user on the entire server face much lesser risk of data thefts and attacks.With a dedicated server you have the privilege to install any application and script,even if something goes wrong,no other user is affected and hence the webhost too would hardly force any restiction in the server usage.
But as far as price is concerned,the VPS is much cheaper than dedicated servers,at the same time you are not given the complete leverage to use the VPS as per your requirements.Most of the resource intensive application are not allowed to be installed onto a VPS as this may create problems for other users hosted onto the same server.
Though with both the servers you get root access but setting permissions on a VPS is what you need to first confirm with the host.

I agree that the ultimo is a dedicated server. But only if you can afford it and expect to grow from it further. The advantages of VPS over shared hosting is obvious and I think you named them perfectly. One is missing however and may be less obvious: Much better customer service. Personally I found the support a lot more personalized after I switched to a VPS, as a matter of fact I have my own support ticket account. The responses are very fast and more in-depth than before. Hardly a week goes by without having a nice informative conversation with one of the "guys".
