j15-104 unable to change background

I have searched the forums and not found a real solution to this problem. Changing the css file does not make a bit of difference to the appearance of the site.

I have changed the editor.css, the template.css, and 3 index.html files that only called for the body background.

This is the code I used:

body {
font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
line-height: 1.3em;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
font-size: 11px;
color: #666;
background-image:url('../images/main-bg-texture.jpg');

What is really weird is that I just went into an article to edit it... and the background I specified for the body is now covering the article edit text box. What is going on?????????????

I don't understand why changing the background does NOT work and why there are no real solutions to this problem. Can someone please help?

Hello SandDancr,

If you are referring to the page_bg.png image and this is the image that you are trying to replace, then you should set the background-image: attribute as part of the page_bg ID and not the body element. The style attributes of the page_bg ID starts on line 92 in the templates/siteground-j15-104/css/template.css file.

Hi Niko...thanks for the reply... no it is not the pg_bg.png I am trying to change... it is the actual body background. My client does not want the white on the sides and has chosen a graphic image instead.

I uninstalled the template and did a fresh reinstall to undo the changes I had made...but still no luck in changing the body background. Is there something else that may be preventing this?
