Help on Website Title

I am trying to change the title of my Joomla web pages it has been a nightmare I am trying to get rid off the "WELCOME FRONTPAGE" title that goes within the tag <title></title>
and also in the front page I looked every where in Joomla CMS and I did not see where to make the change for it, I looked at template and even edit the HTML template and could not find it any idea.

Go to Menus > Main Menu, select Home and you can change this text on the right side.

if change not done with above change then follow below steps

The SITE > GLOBAL CONFIGURATION > SITE > SITE NAME changes the "configuration.php" of your installation (var $fromname = 'xxxxxxxxx'
- The change will ONLY affect your backend IF AND ONLY IF!! your have a TITLE in the menu (MENUS> MAIN MENU > HOME > PARAMETERS (SYSTEM) > PAGE TITLE). If you have a tittle here (and do not use sh404SEF) it will be BOTH your HTML title and your PAGE title unless you set the SHOW PAGE TITLE to 'no', in which case it will only be used for HTML.

- If the title of the point above is blank, then the system will take the SITE NAME from the global configuration as your HTML title. Give it a try!

- Now, what happened to me when using sh404SEF was that the name itself of the menu (HOME), was the one being used as the HTML title regardless of the title used in it or the global config. In my case, sh404SEF has an option to change the HOME page META tags.
