where is the log file

i installed jhackguard , but i cannot find the log file
can you tell me where to find the log file ?
i am using joomla 2.5.9

Hello,

After one day still no logfile. Log file should be in logs directory , i presume public_html/logs ( rights=777)
I have enabled the plugin , create logfile is enabled , but still no log file, i used all default parameters
To my opinion the plugin is not protecting my website at all
what could be wrong?

The UID and GID was apache after install , i have reset this to the website owner ( like all directory's and files have this owner) and set permissons on jhackguard folder to 777, no log file showed up

or works this extension only for Siteground websites ??

The plugin works on all Joomla sites, not only on those, hosted with us As to your other question, lines will be added to the log only when hacking attempts are recorded. It is actually a good thing you don't have a log

the instructions are not so clear :
- Log file - Here you can enter the file name where the logs about the plugin activities will be kept. The default file name is jHackGuard-log.php. It is stored under the logs folder.

so what you mean is the log file jHackGuard-log.php is stored in system/jhackguard/logs directory?

- tell us in the instructions
the jhackguard-log.php file wil be created at the first hacking attempt , and lines will be added

- if jhackguard is working correctly you can do a test as follow: ............................................

i left it enabled , never saw a link on my website, where is the link placed?

Please excuse my mistake. Indeed, jHackGuard stores its log in the /logs folder of your Joomla installation. If you want to test its functionality, please open a browser and try this test "hacking attempt"

This should generate a log file with the following content:

#Fields: datetime priority category message
2013-03-25T06:52:26+00:00 CRITICAL jhackguard Changed GET value from: eval(base64_decode(\'lala\')); to: 'lala'));

yes this test worked and produced a log file in /logs directory with that content.

Put this test on your website as info how to test if jhackguard is working, that would be very helpfull!!

Hi Jac,

The link should be in the footer of your site only on your index page If you don't see it, maybe some of your extensions is stripping it, or the css of your template. You can check whether it is present on your index by viewing its source
