mambo install issue

hey guys I am new to mambo. I cannot even install mambo, I am getting this error.

The installation can not be completed:

- You chose to install in the main directory of the domain rincon-venezolano.net, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain rincon-venezolano.net (path="/home/rinconve/public_html/").You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:
images

I do not see the file public_html on the server. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

I would raise a support ticket. public_html file is the root directory of what you have published & it is likely that Mambo will have conflicting file names with stuff in there. I think it's contents are identical to the www folder.

Hello,

By default, we have set the Frontpage Extensions to be installed to each new account created.

For some reason, the Frontpage Extensions create automaticly the folder images/ in the www folder.

The Mambo Application also contains a folder named images and when the Fantastico tool attempts to install the Mambo (or another application that has images folder), it gives the error that the folder exists.

The solution of the problem is to remove the images/ folder and then to install the Mambo (or another application).

This can be done from the cPanel - File Manager or through FTP.

Since I am first learning about how to work with Mambo. I went ahead and installed mambo under a folder named "site" not on the root. now, if I delete the folder "images" from the root. How do I move mambo from folder "site" to the root? Do I have to uninstall and install again?

Hi,

You can just copy/paste all the files from the site folder to the root folder.

All you will need to do after this will be to edit the configuration.php file.

There, you need to fix the paths to the folders.

There will be like: /home/user/public_html/site

You will need to make them: /home/user/public_html

Just cut out the "site"

Then save the file and you are ready to go.

P.S. It is very important to change the $mos_Livesite from http://domain.com/site to http://domain.com
