Question regarding patching Joomla

Hi,
I'm fairly new to SiteGround hosting. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or recommendations as to how to go about patching Joomla (installed via Fantastico). I belive the installed version is 1.0.3 & there are bug& security patches to 1.0.5 available.

Hi,

I suggest you search @ develop of Joolma -- checking if any known bug issue around it.If you did that via your cpanel,generally no bug I think.Or,reinstall.

*However,me,learning the development issues around Joomla.Although a newbie still,I've already could edit the template & modules myself.I think there's no problem creating some funny tips sharing these I know when we all back from our X'mas vacation

Just ask the tech guys to update your Joomla to 1.05 They will do it in a minute

Thanks for the replies & suggestions. I think I was trying to think too hard. I ended up simply ftp-ing the patch & the two fixes for 1.0.5 to my site. I'm so used to having shell access that I didn't think about the obvious solution.
