    Default Jhackguard setup

    Hi

I'm a new user of Jhackguard.

Could you tell me how to setup the last parameters in Jhackguard, because I don't understand,if I have to select yes or no to be protected for :
    Allow_url_fopen
    Allow_url_include
    Strip code from user-agent
    Strict XSS mode
    Scan input keys
    Disable upload for guests

I would recommend you that you leave those options to their default values. Unless you know what you're doing you should not be changing them since there is a chance those options to interfere with your current Joomla setup.

My main problem is not if I understand the meaning of each function, but that I don't understand the meaning of "yes" or "no" for these selections.
If I select "yes" for ex, does it mean that :
1 - the function is allowed
2 - the protection against the function is on.

If set to "yes" the plugin will be scanning for hacking attempts utilising these functions.

If you upgrade to the latest version, those settings would be much clear to you

OK. Thanks. I will see on my Joomla 3 sites, but i have still a lot of websites on Joomla 2.5, and no time/money/need to ugrade them to Joomla 3.
So I will try to guess the best selections in the parameters (my 2 handicaps : I'm not a programmer ... and I'm french).

    Short answer is:

Filters => Best option is 'Enable'
    Allow_something => Best option 'Off'

The rest of the fields are not mandatory and should be selected depending on your custom setup, where Off means that it will not perform this task and On it will be performed. For example, Disable guest file uploads is turned OFF by default and will not kick in unless you set it to ON.

Thanks. It's almost completely clear. On my last install on Joomla 3, I've seen the interface is completely different, but seems easier to understand.
